* CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
[Adapted from John Calvin’s Forms of Prayer for the Church]
C: O Lord, You are our Father, we are nothing but earth and clay. You are our Creator, we are the workmanship of Your hands. You are our Redeemer, we are the people redeemed by You. Our sins kindle Your wrath, but remember we are called by Your name, and bear Your banner. Do not chastise us in Your fury, but in Your mercy chasten us leniently. Preserve, we ask, the work which Your grace has begun in us, that the whole world may acknowledge You to be our God and Savior. We abandon all other hope, and flee to the precious covenant by which our Lord Jesus Christ, through His own body and blood, has reconciled us to You. Look, therefore, not on us, but on the face of Christ. May Your face shine upon us, as You guide and govern us by Your Word and Spirit. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is He is Able. A Common metaphor for the experiences of life is the ocean. That is the case in literature around the world and down through the ages. The Bible makes use of this metaphor as well. The question at hand is how does one stand in the midst of the storms of life when the deck is more like a bucking bronco than a stable floor? Paul has painted a pretty bleak picture of the future for the Ephesian elders. Lots of storms! How will they stand on the slippery, pitching deck of life? Paul’s confidence is not in their sea-legs, but in the One who is the Master of the Seas, Jesus.
CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Tawney on his installation this morning as Pastor for Worship & Technology at Leidy’s Church. We look forward to God’s work in the life of Chris as he ministers among us. May the Lord Jesus bless and use him abundantly.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR LAST YEAR’S KID’S KLUB KIDS! The song we would like our young people to share with the community at our Dedication Service will need to be one we learned last year, since the service is before Kid’s Klub starts this year! So any young person (and some old) who participated in the Spring musical or attended Kid’s Klub last year is invited to join us. We have scheduled two practices for review: Wednesday, September 7th & September 14th from 5:30-6:00 (which coincidentally is the new time for choir in the Fall!) Contact Mrs. Frueh if you have any questions or concerns!
SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY Do you have a desire to help those with special needs grow in learning biblical truths, worshiping, fellowshipping, praying, and serving others? A new Special Needs Taskforce is looking for volunteers willing to shadow individuals who need an extra hand in participating in age-appropriate activities. Volunteers may serve weekly or on a rotating basis. Interested adults and teens should contact Gina Shoemaker at 215-256-6649 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
HEARING UNITS for those who need them are in a new location. They may now be picked up at the Welcome Desk in the narthex. Please return them to that location following the service of worship.
NEED SOME ANSWERS to where you might find something or how to get from one place to another in this new building? Then make your way to the Welcome Desk in the narthex. Someone will be there with a smiling face and plenty of on-hand information to help you.

Sponsored by BMCE and the Warren Royer American Legion Post 234, the service will feature music, prayers, a timely message, and special acknowledgement of First Responders. Health, hygienic, and comfort items will be collected and shipped to troops serving overseas. Bring a lawn chair and join in this community service of Remembrance and Worship.
