MORNING WORSHIP – 8:00 & 10:45
* THE OPENING HYMN: #337 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty
* THE SOLEMN DECLARATION C: Amen
* THE INVITATION TO CONFESSION
* THE CONFESSION OF SIN – first in silence & then in unison
C: Almighty and most merciful God, we have strayed from Your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have gone against Your laws. We have left undone those things we should have done, and we have done those things we should never have done. Have mercy upon us. Make us whole. And help us to live a righteous life to the glory of Your Holy Name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
* THE KYRIE (sung)
P: Lord, have mercy upon us.
C: Lord, have mercy upon us.
P: Christ, have mercy upon us.
C: Christ, have mercy upon us.
P: Lord, have mercy upon us.
C: Lord, have mercy upon us.
* THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
P: God shows His love for us…
* THE CALL TO PRAISE
P: Let us praise God!
C: Praise the Lord!
* THE GRATEFUL PRAISE: To God Be the Glory
To God be the glory – great things He hath done!
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin
And opened the Lifegate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord!
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory – great things He hath done.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Let Us Reason Together. Today, more than ever before in our nation’s history, we are a people divided. Strong divisions exist on the political and domestic fronts. Tough legal divisions abound on issues of morality, gender roles, and labor equality. Sharp divisions are apparent regarding basic institutions, such as the church and family. Everything appears to be unraveling and many solutions seem to be absurd and irrational. But, there is an answer for such divisions if we will but listen to what God has to say, “’Come now, let us reason together,’ says the Lord.”
