     THE SERMON: “Inconceivable”
*  CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
C: Almighty God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – we confess our sin to You. We desire to know You, to serve You, and to be fruitful for You. That good desire is compromised by other desires. We want to be like other people, and to be liked by other people. We want to take our ease, and not be stretched or challenged. We want to have much gain, but we want it to come without effort. We want to grow spiritually, but without renouncing worldliness. All this makes us tend to the superficial and temporal, at the sake of the profound and eternal. Lord Jesus, help us. Forgive the shallowness of our hearts, and draw us deeper into Your truth. Holy Spirit, renew our minds and purify our hearts. O Father, draw us to You, that our lives may be filled with Your truth, and lived in Your light. Almighty God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – we desire most to honor You. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Inconceivable. A core doctrine of Christianity is the Trinity. It is a cause of great offense to Judaism and Islam, though each claims an Abrahamic origin also. Jew and Muslin alike consider the Trinitarian God inconceivable. In fact, they each consider it blasphemous, utterly to be rejected. There are groups that identify as Christian who also dismiss any notion of the Trinity. They say it is an extra-biblical term that should be rejected. The Church answers that this non-biblical term is designed to protect essential biblical truth. We say, “Praise God for the truth of the Trinity.”
CONGRATULATIONS to Dave Reich who is being ordained and installed as an Elder this morning. Dave also serves as our Consistory President and was elected to serve as Elder earlier this month.
SPECIAL MISSIONARY PRAYER will happen today. A delightful missionary couple – Brian and Barbara – have spent a good number of months in our Mission House. This week they begin the trek back to their field of service. We want to bring them forward for prayer and ask God’s blessing on them as they set out.

SIGNIFICANT THANKS is extended to Pastor Steve, the ladies of the office, Ron and Kathy Moyer, and others who labored diligently and effectively for last evening’s SLMT Auction. It takes a ton of work to bring together all elements of such an event.
IT’S TIME FOR A NEW LEIDY’S CHURCH DIRECTORY The dates for the sittings are Tuesday, June 13th and runs through Saturday, June 17th. Someone will be in the narthex to help you make an appointment.

You may get your tickets from Jack Parry, Pastor Niederhaus, or the church office for a special price of $10.
HEARTY THANKS to all those who gave items for last evening’s auction. Without your contribution there could be no auction! Also, hearty thanks to all who participated in the auction – without bidders and buyers it wouldn’t be much of an auction! Speaking prophetically, a grand total of Just About Enough was raised.

A SPECIAL OFFERING WILL BE RECEIVED this morning. It will be for the Haven of Hope down in Philadelphia. That sort of unexpected expense severely stretches the Haven of Hope’s finances. We want to help. Use a Second Mile Envelope which you can mark “Haven of Hope” and help that ministry in this time of need.
LADIES OF LEIDY’S meet this Tuesday evening at 7 in the Conference Room. We are still collecting items for MorningStar Ministries.  Also, we look forward to having Jack Parry coming to speak to us and tell us about how we can take care of our bodies and concerns specific to women.
