*   CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
[from Martin Luther’s A Simple Way to Pray]
C: O dear Lord, God and Father, enter not into judgment against us, because no man living is justified before You. Do not count it against us as a sin, that we are so unthankful for Your unspeakable goodness, spiritual and physical, or that we stray into sin many times every day, more often than we can know or recognize. Do not look upon how good – or how wicked – we have been, but only upon the infinite compassion which You have bestowed upon us in Christ, Your dear Son. Grant forgiveness also to those who have harmed or wronged us, as we forgive them from our hearts. They inflict the greatest injury upon themselves, by arousing Your anger in their actions toward us. We are not helped by their ruin; we would much rather that they be saved with us. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Dangers Abound. Among the most pernicious of dangers that abound in our world is misinformation, especially through misrepresentation or mislabeling. One need only think about identity theft! Someone gets hold of your information and begins to go around spending large sums of money. They’re having a great time, but you have to pay the bill – or, spend lots of time getting everything straightened out. Similarly, some teach as truth what actually is false. Dangers abound not only in doing such, but in not warning others when you know such is the case.
WE WELCOME DENNY AND SUE Barger into the midst of our congregation this morning. Denny heads us Dreams Alive and its multi-faceted ministry extending throughout the Middle East. Denny and Sue initially were sent out from Leidy’s Church many years ago to do mission work in Egypt. God has led to and through many different ministry arenas since then. We look forward to what He is doing with them now.
THE SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC schedule is posted in the narthex. Each participant is required to meet with a member of the audio-visual team the week before they sing. Contact Pastor Chris at or call him at 267-885-8289 to make arrangements. We hope you will share your God-given talents with us this summer.
NEEDED FOR RALLY DAY – Adults to dress as Bible characters, and volunteers to serve as Rally Day Breakfast prep team. Please call Sherise at 215-915-0796 or e-mail her at if interested.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! to the many volunteers who have been working diligently this past week to get things in place for the transition to our new church facility. You are appreciated – and counted on! In the next few weeks there will be continued opportunity to be blessing by volunteering to help in our move. Call the church office if you want to find out how you can help.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR LAST YEAR’S KID’S KLUB KIDS!  The song we would like our young people to share with the community at our Dedication Service will need to be one we learned last year, since the service is before Kid’s Klub starts this year! So any young person (and some old) who participated in the Spring musical or attended Kid’s Klub last year is invited to join us. We have scheduled two practices for review: Wednesday, September 7th & September 14th from 5:30-6:00 (which coincidentally is the new time for choir in the Fall!) Contact Mrs. Frueh if you have any questions or concerns!
WRITE-ON LETTERS are rarely in the bulletin these days because they’re way too slow! If you would like to get email notification of opportunities to do Write-On type activity, please give your contact information to the church office and information will be sent your way from time to time.
SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY Do you have a desire to help those with special needs grow in learning biblical truths, worshiping, fellowshipping, praying, and serving others? A new Special Needs Taskforce is looking for volunteers willing to shadow individuals who need an extra hand in participating in age-appropriate activities. Volunteers may serve weekly or on a rotating basis. Interested adults and teens should contact Gina Shoemaker at 215-256-6649 or for more information.
THANK YOU to all our brothers and sisters at Leidy’s Church for the prayers, cards, visits, and physical help that was given to us, we are truly blessed. We appreciate all the love we feel here at Leidy’s Church. ~ Ron & Marilee Hughes

ALLELUIA CHOIR – In preparation for the dedication service on September 18th we will resume practice on the three Thursdays leading up to the 18th starting on Thursday, September 1st.  Thursdays are new for us, but the rehearsal schedules for all the activities leading up to the dedication service are really full. If you are not familiar with the Alleluia choir, we gather on occasion to Praise God with a group of about 70 to 80 voices and instruments. It’s open to ages about junior high and up. Feel free to join in or see Nancy VanDerbeek, Gary Filson, or Jim Carling.
CONFIRMATION PICTURES are in and they look great! Confirmation families may pick up a picture in the office. For those who would like to help defray the cost, a $12 donation is suggested.
NEEDED: Volunteers for the Nursery and Children’s Church. Though we only have one service to cover, we still need plenty of volunteers since the children will be all together and not split into two services. Contact Justine Smith if you can help. Please make certain all your clearances are in place.
THE RUMMAGE ROOM HAS MOVED! You may bring your rummage to the main entrance and someone in the office will assist you in getting it to where it needs to go. Any questions, please contact the church office or Mary Beth Musselman.
INVITATIONS FOR THE CHURCH DEDICATION service & open house, taking place on Sunday, September 18th, are now available in the church office. We would encourage everyone to take a few to hand out personally to friends and neighbors. If you require envelopes in order to mail invitations, please let the church office know. Distributing the invitation electronically is also an excellent, budget- and earth- friendly option! To obtain an electronic version of the invitation, email a request to
THE DEDICATION COMMITTEE is looking for digital pictures from church events (Strawberry Festival, Men-O-Lan Picnic, Rally Day, etc.) to use in a slideshow at the Dedication Open House. Please email any pictures to Jim Carling at
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO help a local family going through some deep waters, here’s how. The Worner family has a pre-teen daughter recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. For the next six weeks, five days each week they will travel to Philly for radiation treatments. That means lots of extra expenses. If you would like to help defray some of those expenses you may do so by making a donation to the Good Samaritan Fund using a Second Mile offering envelope. Just mark the envelope: Worner Family. Thanks.
LEIDY’S CHURCH Men’s Group meet every Thursday night at 7:30. We are in the book of John. If you have any questions contact Mario Guerreiro or Dave Doran.
