*   CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
            [first used June 25, 1995]
C: Almighty God, Creator and Ruler of all things, we confess our sin to You. We have been small-minded, and sometimes mean spirited, in our relations with Your people. Enamored with our own limited opinions, we have scorned and resisted truth You brought to us through others. We have not loved and encouraged Christians from traditions different than ours; we have not appreciated Your work in saints of previous generations; and we have not had teachable spirits. Forgive us, we ask, through the all-sufficient sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Renew a right spirit within us, and guide us into all Your truths. Help us be Your faithful covenant people, who bear much fruit for Your glory. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Living Church. All of today’s texts are about the living church, that is, about the body life of the church. Last week we considered the hand of God; this week we consider the hands of the church. The great goal of the Christian life is to grow in edification, but Christian living and service is the primary way edification occurs. We wish we had the problem Moses had in our Exodus passage! Our Corinthian passage offers a glimpse of the many ways individuals contribute to the living church. It happens in Acts too.
NEEDED: Helpers are needed to serve desserts and beverages to our guests at the SLMT Dessert & Entertainment night, and to help with clean-up. Please contact the church office or speak with Pastor Steve.

All attending are invited to share pizza and beverages afterwards for their evening meal. Please bring a dessert to share, and if you are planning on eating but not making a craft be sure to sign up so we know how many to expect. Teachers and helpers are also needed to make this a fun family night for all attending.

LADIES OF LEIDY’S is hosting a Pot Luck Supper on Tuesday, December 1st. We will enjoy a meal together beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, followed by a devotional thought and our monthly business meeting. A sign-up sheet is posted on the Women’s Ministry bulletin board to indicate what you would like to bring to share. All ladies are welcome to attend.
THE BUILDING PROJECT has lights! We’re talking about parking lot lights. Coming on at dusk, they shine until about 10 pm, then shut off until coming on again for the hour or so before dawn. The steeple lights stay on throughout the night. From how far away have you seen the steeple at night? Some amazing reports have come in regarding its visibility. The little cross that’s on top of the steeple isn’t really that little. It is a full six feet in height! Like the entire new church structure, the cross is oriented to face due east. As a consequence, the church and the cross are not perfectly aligned with the roadways and other buildings in the area. That’s a little parable and reminder that the true Church of God always seeks to be faithful to God’s directions even if doing so means not being in alignment with the world. Did you notice the wooded corner has been cleaned out, spruced up, leveled off (with fresh top soil), and seeded with grass? Thank you Property Committee!
DOUBLING YOUR DOLLARS is in full swing. So far in November, $23,535 has been given to the Building Fund. That means we are a little over 10% of the way to reaching the challenge goal of $200,000. While that’s a great start, we still have a good ways to go! Pray and see what the Lord would have you do to help meet this challenge.
ACTORS FROM JUDGMENT HOUSE should place all clothing and scarves bought for you, washed, in Rachel Tyson’s mailbox for next year. Completed scene inventories and attendance sheets should be handed in also.
CHICKEN DINNER DINERS enjoyed a great take-out meal last evening. Thanks are due to the “hefty fellows” who have the vision for this outreach and service. Proceeds will benefit the Building Fund and help us reach the Doubling Your Dollars goal. This year many others joined those fellows in the labor required to provide those hundreds of meals. So Thank You to the Fat Fellows and those folk who caught their vision and helped out so much in the preparation and delivery of the product! The food was great.
LOOKING FOR INSTRUMENTALISTS – that is, individuals who play musical instruments – who might like to accompany our hymns during Advent. Nancy will be playing the organ, of course, but Curt Lockman is organizing those who play other instruments to join in to make much of music during Advent. If this strikes a chord with you, please contact Curt at curt.lockman.pt@gmail.com sooner rather than later.
LEIDY’S CHURCH will again be represented in the Souderton Christmas parade on December 5th. Help is needed to construct gift boxes, become a live walking gift box to walk along the float, help to staple candy canes to printed information, and hand out candy as you walk along the float. If you wish to participate please contact the church office.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD shoe boxes are available on a table in the narthex. This Christmas project is sponsored by the Mission Committee. Pick up a box, fill it with gifts from the suggested gift list, and apply the sticker indicating if it is for a boy or a girl. Gift lists for appropriate ages are available on the table with the boxes. The boxes need to be returned by November 22nd, which is next Sunday.
