THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Supernatural Intervention. The people of God have forever believed we should pray and seek God’s intervention on our behalf. That does not mean the people of God thought the actions of God could be ordered to occur through prayer. Prayer was asking. It wasn’t always receiving. When Peter is escorted from his prison cell, set free from his chains, and arrives at the door where the church is in prayer for his release, the last person they expect to see at the door is Peter! Supernatural intervention! It’s Advent season, the season to anticipate the most important of Supernatural Interventions.
THE SEASON OF ADVENT begins today. This is a four-week preparation to celebrate the birth of Christ. The first candle on the Advent Wreath is Hope. As the Scriptures are read and the candle is lit, meditate upon the hope that Christ brings to the world and to you.
THE SACRAMENT of Holy Communion will be shared this morning at both services. We invite all members of the church of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament. Please fill out a communion card and place it in the offering plate.

We will enjoy a meal together beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, followed by a devotional thought and our monthly business meeting. A sign-up sheet is posted on the Women’s Ministry bulletin board to indicate what you would like to bring to share. All ladies are welcome to attend.
THE BUILDING PROJECT did not lose an entire day of work on Thanksgiving. Believe it or not, on Thanksgiving Day the crew putting the stone on the exterior of the building was hard at it. They finished the final exterior wall. Also finished this week was the final coat of paving material for the bottom of the driveway. After a long time of bumps and dust and ever changing roadways, all are now set for a long time to come. Have you noticed the brilliant green stands of grass growing in various parts of the property? It’s good to have those roots established before the winter sets in. With the new building we’ll also get a new hymnal: The Worship Hymnal. The color selected is slate blue. Committees are at work on the Dedication service, the details of furnishings, financial opportunities that still remain, and coordinating transition details from here to there. It’s all pretty daunting! Much prayer is needed – pray for God’s wisdom, provision, direction, and protection.
THE DOUBLING YOUR DOLLARS challenge continues to match every dollar given to the Building Fund. So far in November there have been 34,095 dollars matched. This year’s challenge goal is $200,000, so there are still plenty of dollars available for matching! We thank the Lord Jesus for this challenge opportunity and all those who are part of it. It is an encouragement! Pray and see what the Lord would have you do to help meet this challenge.
THE 2015 DESSERT & ENTERTAINMENT NIGHT will be held this Saturday, December 5th, beginning at 6 p.m. Seats are still available. Contact the church office or sign the sheet posted in the narthex. Tickets are $20 per person. Music follows around 7:00. No ticket is required to attend the concert, though a free-will offering will be taken.

CHRISTMAS CAROLING takes place two weeks from today! That would be December 13th – yikes! Included in today’s bulletin is a sign-up form to register for caroling. The completed form may be placed in the offering plate or on the secretary’s desk in the office. You may also use the form to make suggestions for persons or homes to put on our caroling list. Feel welcome to join in spreading Christmas cheer!
SOUDERTON CHRISTMAS PARADE happens this Saturday, December 5th. Leidy’s Church will be represented. But we need some helpers. What kind of help? Individuals to serve as living gift boxes to walk alongside our float. Help is needed to construct those gift boxes. Also, need some people willing to hand out candy along the parade route. If you can help out, please let the church office know promptly.
IF YOU HAVE NEED of a used wood stove/fireplace insert, please give Dana and Barb Gehman a call to arrange pick up at 215-453-0840.
ALL PIKANGIKUM SHOEBOXES are due today! Please place them on the table in the narthex so they can be packed and shipped tomorrow. Thank you for giving to those who don’t have much.
WANTED: A FEW MORE ADULTS/TEENS (not confirmation class) to help the Kid’s Klub choirs put on their Christmas pageant! Only one performance…on December 20th during the Sunday School “Happy Birthday Jesus!” party. Only minimal to no acting/memorization required (depending on the part). Many lucrative careers have launched from our humble stage…who knows…you could be the next to be discovered! See Donna Frueh for details.
