* CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
[Adapted from prayers of confession by Hughes Oliphant Old]
C: O Lord, great God, whom we behold in awe and wonder, who has kept covenant and steadfast love with Your people from age to age. We have sinned and done wrong, turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. We have known in our hearts what is right, and yet we did wrong anyway. We have been fascinated by evil, delighted with pleasing ourselves, satisfying our desires, pampering ourselves with pleasures. O Lord, great God, have mercy on us, according to Your steadfast love. We know You delight in goodness; grant that we, too, might delight in goodness. We ask all this, O Father, in the name of Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, and yet lives forevermore. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Savoring God’s Word Together. A fantastic steak (coffee, ice cream, insert your personal favorite) is sublime. Each bite filled with melt-in-your-mouth goodness meant to be savored slowly with a drink of choice. Do we ever savor God’s Word like a good steak? Colossians 3:16 tells us to let the Word richly dwell within us, to savor it. Just as we desire to share (or, maybe, overshare) on social media the deliciousness of our favorite meals, so also we should share the goodness of God’s Word with each other. That’s how we all may share in the feast that God has prepared for His people.

LADIES MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY – We will begin a new series on March 6th at 6:45 in room 118. Crucible: The Choices that Change Your Life Forever. This is a 6 week, no homework DVD, workbook and discussion study by Walk Thru the Bible. Your life is full of moments of decision, and how you respond can have lifelong impact. Israel’s shepherd king faced critical choices in the same areas we do, and we can learn a lot from how he handled them. To order the workbook either contact Sandy Nase at 215-669-1421 or the church office by Sunday, February 26th. We hope you will join us.
LEIDY’S CHURCH is hosting the Awaken Conference for women on Saturday, April 22nd. There is a great team working on the details, but we have been asked to provide two people to welcome and register attendees (of which we already have one volunteer), and three or four to maintain the coffee/tea/water station throughout the event. We also were asked to provide baked goods for the morning such as breakfast cakes, muffins, quick breads, etc. A sign-up sheet has been posted in the narthex, or you may contact the church office.
THE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DEPT. is collecting pictures of children in our Nursery through 12th grade Sunday School classes for 2017 prayer cards which will be distributed on Palm Sunday. Parents, be sure a picture of your child(ren), with their name and birthdate on the back, is turned in to their Sunday School teachers, the church office, or the Welcome Desk. If you do not have a picture, let their Sunday School teacher know, and we will take one for you. It is our desire that each child has an adult praying for them!
