*  CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
[adapted from John Calvin’s Forms of Prayer for the Church]
C: O Lord, You are our Father, we are nothing but earth and clay. You are our Creator, we are the workmanship of Your hands. You are our Redeemer, we are the people redeemed by You. Our sins kindle Your wrath, but remember we are called by Your name, and bear Your banner. Do not chastise us in Your fury, but in Your mercy chasten us leniently. Preserve, we ask, the work which Your grace has begun in us, that the whole world may acknowledge You to be our God and Savior. We abandon all other hope, and flee to the precious covenant by which our Lord Jesus Christ, through His own body and blood, has reconciled us to You. Look, therefore, not on us, but on the face of Christ. May Your face shine upon us, as You guide and govern us by Your Word and Spirit. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Catch of Your Life. Heard any good fishing tales lately? You know the kind where your buddy has his arms widely extended and is like, “It was so massively big!” But nobody likes to talk about the small catch or the trip where you spent all day in the boat but caught absolutely nothing! Well today’s sermon is an epic fishing tale, one where Jesus uses the ocean to challenge both the pride and profession of Simon Peter and other fishermen by giving them the catch of their lives. It is to be hoped that Jesus’ call to go fish will also catch some of us – hook, line and sinker!

SOME OF THE OPEN SPOTS in the Christian Ed department were filled by those in our church family willing to help. We thank you! There is still an immediate need for a teacher’s helper in the Toddler Sunday School class, and we would like to have a list of those who would be willing to substitute in our children’s classrooms if a need arises. If you are available, please contact Bekah Kulp (215-622-0813) or let the church office know.
iBLAST IS COLLECTING new or gently used toys (still in original packaging) for the second semester. There is a box in the narthex for donations. Contact Pastor Andrew if you have any questions.
HAZEL KRIER thanks everyone for their willingness to make meals when called upon during the past year. Many people received a blessing because of your kindness. There is a sign-up sheet for the Meal Ministry for 2017 posted in the narthex.
