*   CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
C: We bow in Your presence O God, King of all creation. As part of the world You made, we confess this world rebels against Your rule. We relentlessly pursue our purposes, not Yours. We worship other gods, which are not gods at all. We make war and we make love, according to our perceptions, not according to Your directions. As part of the United States, we confess we have used Your name, while turning our backs to You. With our lips we honor You; with our laws and our lives we defy You. As part of the Body of Christ, we confess we have not followed You as fully and faithfully as we ought. So, we come again to You, Lord Jesus, the Fount of Mercy. Forgive us by Your shed blood. Thank You for Your patience. Thank You for Your love. We rejoice in Your kindnesses to us. Keep us in Your care. Be our King and Ruler forever. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Tears and Trials, Repentance and Faith. The fighting, clinging faith we learned about last week is exemplified in our Psalms passage this week. It’s the kind of faith Paul had to exercise throughout his ministry. It’s the same faith he called for from those who became believers. Now on his way from Greece to Jerusalem, Paul calls for the Ephesian Elders to meet him at the beachfront town of Miletus. He will explain what message characterized his ministry, how he went about ministering, and why in that manner. He indicates tears and trials were an integral part of repentance and faith.
THE SACRAMENT of Holy Communion will be shared at both services this morning. We invite all members of the church of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament. Please fill out a communion card and place it in the offering plate.
THE SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC schedule is posted in the narthex. Each participant is required to meet with a member of the audio-visual team the week before they sing. You will be given the name of the AV person who is on duty for that week so that you can contact him. We hope you will share your God-given talents with us this summer.
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP meets this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the home of Rock and Astrid Rau. Main course is provided, but bring along a side dish (coleslaw, salads, etc.) or a dessert dish. Reminder that girls and guys should wear appropriate swimsuits.
VBS STILL NEEDS A FEW MORE HELPING HANDS!  In the narthex, there are now sign-ups for food & baked goods, decor sessions before VBS, and breakdown/clean-up sessions after VBS.  Clearances are NOT required for these jobs so if you’ve been looking to help out somewhere but don’t have clearances in place, this is a great opportunity.
MARVIN LANDIS would like to thank everyone in the congregation for their prayers, cards, and visits he received for the last eight weeks for rehab, and healing for a broken pelvic bone.
WE’RE GETTING NEW HYMNALS in the new church. If you would like to provide a hymnal in honor of or in memory of someone, you’ll find the form on the narthex desk. Cost is $15 per hymnal. Sponsorship plates will be placed in the hymnals. You may sponsor as many hymnals as you like.

Intern will learn and work at Alderfer Poultry Farm in Harleysville, but he will participate with the host family in cultural activities. A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING takes place immediately following the early service next Sunday. The purpose of the meeting is to elect Consistorymen. Peter Martindell is nominated to serve as Deacon; Matt Harris for a second term; Ken Merritt for Elder; and Stan Ott to serve another term.
THANK YOU to all the workers who – despite dirt and sweat and close conditions – got a whole lot of work done at yesterday’s Property Committee workday. Your labors are appreciated.
HERE WE GO! If all goes according to plan, the first service of worship in the new church building will take place on August 7th. Yes, that’s just two weeks from today. All the approvals are back from the state, and the final inspection should be done early this week. Before the week is over we hope to have the necessary Occupancy Permits in hand.
DO YOU REMEMBER the new times for worship and Sunday School as we transition over to the new church? Sunday School begins at 8:45. Worship begins at 10. There will only be one service of worship.
TOURS OF THE NEW CHURCH will be available for Leidy’s Church folk on Friday the 5th and Saturday the 6th. On Friday evening tours will be done from 6 to 8 p.m., while the next day tours will be going on from 1 to 3 p.m.
WRITE-ON LETTERS are rarely in the bulletin these days because they’re way too slow! If you would like to get email notification of opportunities to do Write-On type activity, please give your contact information to the church office and information will be sent your way from time to time.
NEEDED: Volunteers for the Nursery and Children’s Church, especially for the 10:45 service. Please make sure you have all your clearances in place. Contact Justine Smith if you can help.
ISAAC & JANIE INYANG would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the cards, many prayers and expressions of support over the past several weeks. It is a blessing to belong to this church family.
