*   CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
[from Martin Luther’s A Simple Way to Pray]
C: O dear Lord, God and Father, enter not into judgment against us, because no man living is justified before You. Do not count it against us as a sin, that we are so unthankful for Your unspeakable goodness, spiritual and physical, or that we stray into sin many times every day, more often than we can know or recognize. Do not look upon how good – or how wicked – we have been, but only upon the infinite compassion which You have bestowed upon us in Christ, Your dear Son. Grant forgiveness also to those who have harmed or wronged us, as we forgive them from our hearts. They inflict the greatest injury upon themselves, by arousing Your anger in their actions toward us. We are not helped by their ruin; we would much rather that they be saved with us. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Future. The future looms over us. Who is going to be our next President and what will that mean for our nation’s future? As a congregation, we are wondering about our move across the street. How will all that work out? The future looms large! In today’s text from Acts Paul explains what the Holy Spirit has said is in his immediate future. It’s not pretty. Likewise, on Maundy Thursday night Jesus tells His disciples what to expect in the future. Not pretty. Praise God that He also gives to His people the twenty-third Psalm. It’s a Psalm for the living, not the dead.
WE WELCOME CHARIOTS FOR HOPE to our services today. This ministry oversees a group of orphanages in Kenya. It’s an exciting ministry in which we look forward to participating. Bob Feller will tell us a bit about it in each service of worship, while Andelyn Robb will tell the fuller story in the Fellowship Hall during Sunday School. You’re invited to come hear and have your heart engaged.
THE SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC schedule is posted in the narthex. Each participant is required to meet with a member of the audio-visual team the week before they sing. Contact Pastor Chris at ctawney1450@gmail.com or call him at 267-885-8289 to make arrangements. We hope you will share your God-given talents with us this summer.
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP meets this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the home of John and Lorraine Kroesser. Main course is provided, but bring along a side dish (coleslaw, salads, etc.) or a dessert dish. Reminder that girls and guys should wear appropriate swimsuits.
NEEDED FOR RALLY DAY – Adults to dress as Bible characters, and volunteers to serve as Rally Day Breakfast prep team. Please call Sherise at 215-915-0796 or e-mail her at vsritt@yahoo.com if interested.
VBS STILL NEEDS A FEW MORE HELPING HANDS!  In the narthex, there are now sign-ups for food & baked goods, decor sessions before VBS, and breakdown/clean-up sessions after VBS.  Clearances are NOT required for these jobs so if you’ve been looking to help out somewhere but don’t have clearances in place, this is a great opportunity.
CONFIRMATION PICTURES are in and they look great! Confirmation families may pick up a picture in the office. For those who would like to help defray the cost, a $12 donation is suggested.
A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING takes place immediately following the early service this morning. The purpose of the meeting is to elect Consistorymen. Peter Martindell is nominated to serve as Deacon; Matt Harris for a second term; Ken Merritt for Elder; and Stan Ott to serve another term.
WRITE-ON LETTERS are rarely in the bulletin these days because they’re way too slow! If you would like to get email notification of opportunities to do Write-On type activity, please give your contact information to the church office and information will be sent your way from time to time.
CHRISTIAN ED NEEDS: We are in need of Teachers and Assistants for the 2016-2017 Sunday School year. Specific needs are on the insert in the bulletin.
12-HOUR PRAYER VIGIL – On Saturday, August 6th beginning at 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. there will be prayer in the new sanctuary before our first service there. Patricia Martindell will be in the narthex to sign you up for half-hour slots or as much time as your schedule permits.
SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY Do you have a desire to help those with special needs grow in learning biblical truths, worshiping, fellowshipping, praying, and serving others? A new Special Needs Taskforce is looking for volunteers willing to shadow individuals who need an extra hand in participating in age-appropriate activities. Volunteers may serve weekly or on a rotating basis. Interested adults and teens should contact Gina Shoemaker at 215-256-6649 for more information.
TOUR GUIDES NEEDED – Three or four are needed for Saturday to take tour groups through the church. Contact the church office if you can help.
IT’S OFFICIAL! Leidy’s Church has the appropriate state-issued Occupancy Permit for the new church facility. Thanks be to God! We received the thumbs up from the L&I inspector on Wednesday about 11 a.m. Since then all sorts of gears have become engaged to help the transition happen. Be sure to read other announcements in this bulletin to find out how you can help, enjoy, and be a part of the transition.
NEW CHURCH SERVICE TIMES Next Sunday, August 7th, we begin with a new schedule as follows:
Sunday School begins at 8:45 – you will want to get here earlier so we can begin on time.
Worship begins at 10 a.m. – don’t be late for our first service of worship in the new building.
NEEDED: Volunteers for the Nursery and Children’s Church. Though we only have one service to cover, we still need plenty of volunteers since the children will be all together and not split into two services. Contact Justine Smith if you can help. Please make certain all your clearances are in place.
COME TAKE A TOUR: This Friday evening or on Saturday afternoon you can get a thorough and relaxed tour of our new church facility. Friendly and informative guides from the congregation will show you around. Worried about stairs? Don’t. We can take the elevator if necessary. No appointment needed, just come. On Friday the tours will take place from 6 to 8 in the evening, while the Saturday tours will be held between 1 and 3 in the afternoon.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO help a local family going through some deep waters, here’s how. The Worner family has a pre-teen daughter recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. For the next six weeks, five days each week they will travel to Philly for radiation treatments. That means lots of extra expenses. If you would like to help defray some of those expenses you may do so by making a donation to the Good Samaritan Fund using a Second Mile offering envelope. Just mark the envelope: Worner Family. Thanks.
CAN YOU HELP? There are lots of general tasks that can be done in our new church such as putting supplies in bathrooms, wiping down banquet chairs and walls, mopping, cleaning windows, and placing items in the pew racks. The doors will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Come and go as you are able. All willing hands are appreciated!
RIDE TO CHURCH NEEDED: Looking for someone to pick up Lillian King from her apartment at the Lutheran Community in Telford to church and back for services beginning Sunday, August 7th. If you can help, please contact the church office for details.
PLEASE BE SURE to clean out all items from your mailbox today, as we will not be moving them to the new building. You will have a new mailbox over there. Thank you.
THE DEDICATION COMMITTEE is looking for digital pictures from church events (Strawberry Festival, Men-O-Lan Picnic, Rally Day, etc.) to use in a slideshow at the Dedication Open House. Please email any pictures to Jim Carling at jcarling@miltonroy.com.
