*  CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
C: Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we praise You that we are made in Your image. We did not make ourselves, rather You did, and You made us for Yourself. But we have rebelled. We think we know better than You. So, we seek to re-make ourselves according to our own notions. We have elevated and celebrated that which You have forbidden. We glory in our wickedness. O Lord, You know the thoughts and intentions of our hearts: nothing is hidden from You. Help us! Convict us! Call us! Forgive us! Heal us! Restore us! Do not abandon us to our folly. Lord Jesus, though we be filthy, make us clean; though we be rebels, make us obedient to You. Amaze us with Your mercy and grace. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Doctrine of Man. It’s Father’s Day. What better day to consider what God has said about man? Maybe that should be, “What God has said about humans.” Or, again, “What God has said about man/male and woman/female.” We’ll see about all that. We also will consider how it is that we bear the image of God. It is important to know that man is unique in God’s creation – fearfully and wonderfully made as Psalm 139 expresses it. If we bear the image of God and are meant to glorify Him, then we need to know how to do so. Good old Job might give us some insight on that.

THE SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC schedule is posted in the narthex. We hope you will share your God-given talents with us this summer. Pastor Chris will contact you to schedule a time for practice.
SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL volunteers are beginning next Sunday June 25th. The intent is to give our teachers a break over the summer. So, if you are a parent, prayer partner, grandparent, aunt/uncle, or friend please consider taking one Sunday to teach this summer. All the material is provided for you. Look for a sign-up sheet with the dates needed in the narthex. Our kids are the greatest – take time to get to know them!
ARE YOU READY to provide support for a specific member of the SLMT mission team? Team participants are in the process of looking for folk to pray for them individually and to help each one raise his or her required $480 financial undergirding. If you are ready, but no one has approached you, let the church office know. You will be approached! Thanks.
THANK YOU to all who planned, executed, and provided for the Photo Directory activities of this past week. Your labors were fruitful. Also, thanks to all the individuals and families who came for photo sessions. If you did not make an appointment, but want to get your picture in the directory, contact the church office to find out what you need to do. We’re all looking forward to seeing our new directory soon!
NEW MEMBERS will be received into Leidy’s Church on July 9th. Those interested in joining the church should contact Pastor Niederhaus or the church office sooner rather than later to make the appropriate arrangements. We had to move the date back because of a certain staff members busy schedule.
SPECIAL SPEAKER will be in Issues & Answers next week. John Freeman, founder of Harvest USA Ministries will explain how they continue to minister hope and help in this age of sexual disorder. Leidy’s Church has long supported Harvest USA and we will be encouraged and uplifted and taught as we hear all the Lord is doing through that ministry. Join John Freeman in Issues & Answers next Sunday.
PLAY BALL!!! Leidy’s Church has a block of 50 tickets for the Saturday evening, July 29th game between the minor league leading Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs and the thoroughly deplorable Durham Bulls. It should be a good game as the Bulls have the next best record in the minors after the Pigs. Tickets are available after the service today. They are $11 each and include a coupon for $2 off any food item purchased at the park.
PRELIMINARY FOOD PREP FOR VBS AND SLMT will take place in the kitchen tomorrow at 10 a.m. If you are available to help out during the day, stop by! Questions? Please speak with Lorraine Kroesser (215.855.4673).
HOW TO HELP when you can’t go on the SLMT trip. There are SLMT Work Days to get lots of work done. You may come as short or long a time as you have available. There are multiple types of tasks to be done. SLMT Work Days are scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week from 9 to noon and then again at 6:30 pm. It all happens in Room 105, which is on the Christian Ed level directly under the chancel area. If you have any questions, contact Mary Beth.
THIS SUMMER the Women’s Sunday School class, which meets in Room 118, will be watching a series of DVDs from the Answers in Genesis 2015 Women’s Conference.
