[from Martin Luther’s A Simple Way to Pray]
C: O dear Lord, God and Father, enter not into judgment against us, because no man living is justified before You. Do not count it against us as a sin, that we are so unthankful for Your unspeakable goodness, spiritual and physical, or that we stray into sin many times every day, more often than we can know or recognize. Do not look upon how good – or how wicked – we have been, but only upon the infinite compassion which You have bestowed upon us in Christ, Your dear Son. Grant forgiveness also to those who have harmed or wronged us, as we forgive them from our hearts. They inflict the greatest injury upon themselves, by arousing Your anger in their actions toward us. We are not helped by their ruin; we would much rather that they be saved with us. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Incidents Happen! Psalm 96 has wonderful sentiments: Sing to the Lord a new song, Sing to the Lord all the earth . . . Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. That could serve as the mission statement of the Apostle Paul. He was doing that very thing. Trouble was, as Paul told of the Lord’s glory, incidents happened!  This Lord’s Day we look at a riot that occurred in Ephesus after two years of Pauline ministry. There are good, practical reasons for the riot. Paul’s message is threatening people’s livelihoods and calling into question the cultural heritage of Ephesus. Thus, an incident happens!
WE WELCOME THE VAN DYKENS back to Leidy’s Church. Long-time missionaries serving with Trans World Radio [TWR], they have lived around the globe over the past 25+ years. Currently the focus of their attention is the same spot where they began, Bonaire, the island that’s part of the Netherlands, located just off the coast of Venezuela. Of course, they invite you to join them in the Issues and Answers class for a fuller presentation of work of their mission.
CHOIR – REMEMBER that we are singing All Creation Worships You at the Lutheran Community at Telford this afternoon at 2:30. See you then!
THE SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC schedule is posted in the narthex. Each participant is required to meet with a member of the audio-visual team the week before they sing. You will be given the name of the AV person who is on duty for that week so that you can contact him. We hope you will share your God-given talents with us this summer.
ATTENTION ALL CRAFTY, CREATIVE, and construction-savvy members! VBS has a need for several fun set/decor projects to be completed over the course of the summer. They range from simple to complex so there’s something for everyone. Please contact Shannon Kehs (shannon.kehs@gmail.com, 215-450-5402) if you would be willing to do one and she can provide you with a project folder outlining what’s needed.
THANK YOU from Less Pross for all the prayers and cards. Praise the Lord – everything went well!

PRAYERS ANSWERED FAVORABLY. On Thursday the Labor and Industry Board met in Harrisburg and ruled on three requests for variances from Leidy’s Church. That meeting had been one of the items on the agenda at the congregational prayer meeting Wednesday evening. We thank God that the L&I Board granted each of the three requests.
