*   CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
                     [First used February 24, 1993]
C: O Lord, our God, we know that You are righteous altogether. All that You do is right, and all that You purpose shall be accomplished. We confess we have rebelled against You. We have sought to determine for ourselves what is right, and have resisted Your purposes. We have listened to the voices of strangers, to those who have not stood in Your counsel, and we have been misled. We have done these things individually, and we have done the same as a nation. Forgive us O God! Cause us to search and try our ways. Forgive our sin and bring us back to You. Cleanse us by the blood of Jesus, Your dear Son, and renew us by the power of the Holy Spirit. Indeed, bring the water of life to the deserts of our souls. Make us fruitful for You, so that You are glorified through us. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is A Fruitful Desert. When Paul travels from Athens to Corinth he little understands the consequences that will follow. He will meet a Jewish couple who were driven from Rome with the rest of the Jews, that is, Aquila and Priscilla. Though he’s never visited Corinth previously, for the rest of history Paul’s name will be linked with that of Corinth. His ministry in Corinth begins with controversy and very little fruit. He is intimidated by the Jews and Gentiles. Yet God makes it very clear to Paul that God has people in that corrupt town, people whom Paul does not yet know. But he will.
LAST CALL FOR GRADUATES – We want to recognize and honor those graduating from high school, college, business school, or graduate school during the month of June. Please contact the church office with the name of your graduate(s) and what their plans may be for the future ASAP.
PLEASE BE SURE to get your children’s Sunday School information turned in as soon as possible.
THE CHURCH PICNIC AT MEN-O-LAN IS BACK ON!! Unfortunately, we must have your reservation in by today in order to let Men-O-Lan plan the amount of food needed. Men-O-Lan will again be providing our mid-day meal, but we will provide our own dessert and supper. Men-O-Lan is a peanut free camp, please nothing made with peanuts. We will need help with set-up and clean-up, as well as people for pond duty and transporting items to and from the church. A sign-up is in on the narthex desk. Please place completed form in the box provided.
THE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL takes place on Saturday, June 11th. Much help is needed to make the Festival a success. Forms are in the bulletin. Be sure to check as many volunteer positions you can fill.
THE SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC schedule is posted in the narthex. Each participant is required to meet with a member of the audio-visual team the week before they sing. You will be given the name of the AV person who is on duty for that week so that you can contact him. We hope you will share your God-given talents with us this summer.
THE BUILDING PROJECT brought a number of items into ADA compliance this week. Most notable is the excellent job the workmen did with the reception wall in the main office. Looking sharp! Two major areas that remain to be addressed are a concrete slab outside the kitchen/office area outside entrance and the significant adjustments needed near the pulpit to insure the chancel area is ADA accessible from both side ramps. The Fellowship Hall has sprouted round banquet tables! Likewise, chairs and tables and book cases are appearing in many rooms. Dave Doran and volunteers have been busy. Appropriately sized chairs and tables are on-site for the pre-school crowd. Work continued on the athletic fields also. The soccer field area was leveled, had rocks removed, tilled, and then planted with grass and covered with straw. It is entirely appropriate to give praise to God for all that’s been accomplished in the last two years, and to seek His provision and guidance for all the final touches.
