*    CONFESSION OF SIN – first in silence and then in unison
            [first used October 27, 1996]
C: Gracious God, You determine the times and boundaries of all nations. You number our days before we are born. Nothing is hidden from You. Therefore, we come to confess our sin to You. We have been arrogant. We imagine our days are our own, we think our lives are our own. We assume we can turn to You at a time of our own choosing. We forgot that salvation is of God. We ask, O Lord, that You turn our hearts to You. Wash away our sin by Jesus’ blood, and pour upon us Your Spirit as a flood. By Your grace may our hearts be tender, and our spirits teachable. Grant us the desire and the power, to walk in Your ways all our days. Whether we live or whether we die, may our lives be lived for Your glory. Amen.
*   A HYMN: #498 Through the Love of God Our Savior
** AN ANTHEM: Chancel Choir
*   THE CLOSING HYMN: #608 Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah
*   SILENT MEDITATION – Please remain in your pews in a worshipful attitude until the Pastor leaves

WELCOME TO ALL VISITORS who are worshipping with us. We pray you will have a meaningful time of worship and invite you to worship with us again.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Hand of the King. King Agrippa 1 and King Nebuchadnezzar were mighty potentates of old. They could do with the lives of their subjects as they pleased. Their hands ruled. So, Nebuchadnezzar had some captive Jewish kids set aside for special training, but not others. Centuries later, Agrippa has James the son of Zebedee beheaded for no discernible reason; he simply could order it done. Because it pleased some folk, he decided to do the same to the apostle Peter. But in Peter’s case he will not succeed. Why? Each king intends to do his will, but The King is the One who rules.
WE WELCOME CLAY AND BECKY Walter back to Leidy’s Church today. They are passing through our area on their way from Nampa, Idaho to Papua New Guinea – just your normal travel route. They serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Their departure date for the south Pacific is soon after Christmas. Until that time they are staying in our Mission House. We’ll hear how they are following God’s call on their lives.
THANKSGIVING WORSHIP is this Wednesday evening at 7:30. Traditional songs will be sung, testimonies will be shared, choirs will sing, prayers will be offered, and hearts consecrated to the Lord. Bring your family and start the Thanksgiving holiday off right.
ADVENT WORKSHOP happens next Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Check out the table in the narthex and choose what craft you would like to make. Teachers and helpers are also needed to make this a fun family night for all attending. If you are planning to eat with us but your name isn’t on a craft sheet, please sign the “pizza only” list so we have an accurate count. Each family should bring a dessert to share, beverages are provided. The crafts and pizza are free.
NEEDED: Helpers are needed to serve desserts and beverages to our guests at the SLMT Dessert & Entertainment night on December 5th, and to help with clean-up. Please contact the church office or speak with Pastor Steve.

LADIES OF LEIDY’S is hosting a Pot Luck Supper on Tuesday, December 1st. We will enjoy a meal together beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, followed by a devotional thought and our monthly business meeting. A sign-up sheet is posted on the Women’s Ministry bulletin board to indicate what you would like to bring to share. All ladies are welcome to attend.
THE ZION CHORAL SOCIETY concert is being held at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship in Allentown this afternoon at 3:00. This is their last performance.
THE BUILDING PROJECT is picking up pace. One morning we awakened to stripes in the parking lot! Isn’t it good to picture those spaces being filled with cars of folk present for worship? The stained glass fabricators were here this week. Now that the window is completely framed in and fitted out, they needed to get exact measurements for the frames of glass they’ll create. The gymnasium level has most of the work done, but not the final gym floor. Access to the main electrical room and the mechanical room is via that floor, so the final floor will not be put down until the bulk of the electrical and hvac work is completed. The primary focus now is on the sanctuary. All the dry wall is up and spackled. Flooring for the organ is being put in place. The final exterior wall should be finished early this week. Lots of trim work for windows and doors is being done as well. The walls for the sacristy area are being put in place. Lots of sawdust and activity! Keep all aspects of this project in your prayers, please.
DOUBLING YOUR DOLLARS has dollars waiting to be matched. Of the 200,000 dollars available and longing to be matched, thus far 28,588 have found matches. That means 171,412 dollars are pining away looking for a match! Every dollar given to the Building Fund in November and December will prove to be a match for one of those remaining 171,412 lonely dollars. Pray and see what the Lord would have you do to help meet this challenge.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD boxes are due today! If you forgot yours, bring it by this afternoon. Our thanks to all who are participating. Special thanks to Ken and Velva Stevenson who are coordinating this effort.
SOUDERTON CHRISTMAS PARADE happens on Saturday, December 5th. Leidy’s Church will be represented. But we need some helpers. What kind of help? Individuals to serve as living gift boxes to walk alongside our float. Help is needed to construct those gift boxes. Hands are needed to help staple candy canes to printed information. Also, need some people willing to hand out candy along the parade route. If you can help out, please let the church office know promptly.
LOOKING FOR INSTRUMENTALISTS – that is, individuals who play musical instruments – who might like to accompany our hymns during Advent. Nancy will be playing the organ, of course, but Curt Lockman is organizing those who play other instruments to join in to make much of music during Advent. If this strikes a chord with you, please contact Curt at sooner rather than later.
WANTED: A FEW MORE ADULTS/TEENS (not confirmation class) to help the Kid’s Klub choirs put on their Christmas pageant! Only one performance…on December 20th during the Sunday School “Happy Birthday Jesus!” party. Only minimal to no acting/memorization required (depending on the part). Many lucrative careers have launched from our humble stage…who knows…you could be the next to be discovered! See Donna Frueh for details.
PRAYER WARRIORS: Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) provides a Prayer Calendar which highlights prayer needs of the organization. They are available on the desk in the narthex. Please join us in praying daily for coaches & athletes. If you have any questions, please contact Darlene Schmidt or Wanda Brunner.
THE 2015 DESSERT & ENTERTAINMENT NIGHT will be held on Saturday, December 5th, beginning at 6 p.m. Some tickets were purchased at the last SLMT Auction, but there are still seats available. Contact the church office or sign the sheet posted in the narthex. Tickets are $20 per person. Music follows around 7:00. No ticket is required to attend the concert, though a free-will offering will be taken.
