Forgive us our sins, help us to change our ways, and give us the courage to endure all things for Your sake.  Amen

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is At a Loss. The incarnation of Jesus changes everything. The conception and birth of the Son of God as a human baby is the decisive and definitive act of God. How do you explain what happened? How do you explain what it means? The life of Jesus of Nazareth is a mystery to the human mind from beginning to end. The Roman governor Festus says he is at a loss to understand the assertions made by Paul about Jesus. We’ll see others at a loss to explain the work of God, folk like Abraham, Sarah, and Zacharias. How about us – what do we say about Him?
THE SEASON OF ADVENT begins today. This is a four-week preparation to celebrate the birth of Christ. The first candle on the Advent Wreath is Hope. As the scriptures are read and the candle is lit, meditate upon the hope that Christ brings to the world and to you.
THE SACRAMENT of Holy Communion will be shared this morning. We invite all members of the church of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament. Please fill out a communion card and place it in the offering plate.

Feel welcome to join in spreading Christmas cheer!
THINKING OF GIVING A BIBLE to someone for Christmas? The church office has a supply of New American Standard reference Bibles available. This is the translation used in our church. The cost of the Bible is what the cost is to the church. Contact the church office for more details.
THE LADIES OF LEIDY’S annual pot luck Christmas meeting takes place on Tuesday, December 6th, beginning at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The program documents that it was video recorded by Vaughn Landes, so we are hoping someone has a copy? Please notify the church office if you find one . . . it is rare, and worth a fortune . . . so they say.

Lo! He Comes, with Clouds Descending
Lo! He comes, with clouds descending,
Once for favored sinners slain;
All the many saints attending
Swell the triumph of His train:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
God appears on earth to reign.
Every eye shall now behold Him,
Robed in awesome majesty;
Those who once denied and killed Him
Pierced, and nailed Him to the tree,
Deeply wailing, deeply wailing,
Shall the true Messiah see.
Now redemption, long expected,
See in solemn pomp appear;
All His saints, by man rejected,
Now shall meet Him in the air:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
See the day of God appear!
Yea, amen! Let all adore Thee,
High on the eternal throne;
Savior, take the power and glory;
Claim the kingdom for Your own:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Christ shall reign, and Christ alone.
