#2 Hosanna                                #4 Behold our God
THE HOLY SCRIPTURES: Ezra 7:1-10 (page 489)
                                                       1 Corinthians 3:1-9 (page 1142)
                                                       Acts 11:19-24 (page 1102)
THE SERMON: “The Hand of God”
*    CONFESSION OF SIN – first in silence and then in unison
C: We turn to You, O Lord, for there is none other that can help us. In days gone by we have turned elsewhere: to the strength of our flesh, which failed; to the so-called wisdom of this world, which turned out to be a lie; and to the alluring attractiveness of false gods, which made our situation worse rather than better. Forgive us our sinful waywardness, our prideful boasting of human strength, and let us find our righteousness, peace, and joy in You alone. May the blood of Jesus cleanse us, may the power of the Holy Spirit fill us, and by Your grace may we remain your redeemed, thankful, and fruitful people. Amen.
*   A HYMN: #547 The Church’s One Foundation
** AN ANTHEM: Chancel Choir
*   THE CLOSING HYMN: #679 Eternal Father, Strong to Save
*   SILENT MEDITATION – Please remain in your pews in a worshipful attitude until the Pastor leaves

WELCOME TO ALL VISITORS who are worshipping with us. We pray you will have a meaningful time of worship and invite you to worship with us again.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Hand of God. Just so you know: The Hand of God is a metaphor! God is a spirit. He does not have a body. He does not have a hand. Nonetheless, the Bible speaks of God’s hand. When that happens, the scriptural text is pointing to the power of God. Hands fashion things. In Ephesians 2:10 Christians are called the “workmanship” of God. Individual lives and the whole of history are fashioned by the power of God, that is, by His hand. Sometimes we forget what lies behind what we accomplish or what others accomplish: the hand of God.
LOOKING FOR SOMEONE to transport two children from Kids Klub each Wednesday to Green Meadows in Telford. Contact Melinda Ziegler at 215-513-1255 if you can help.
THE ANNUAL CHICKEN BBQ features homemade sides – one of which is the (almost) famous Leidy’s Church potato salad. Lots of help is needed to make the 200 lbs. needed to fulfill the orders. On Thursday, November 12th, at 6 p.m., advance chopping and prep will begin in the kitchen. Then Friday at 8 a.m. workers are needed to peel and cut up the potatoes for mixing. All are welcome to help as you are able! If you have questions, please speak with Donna Moyer.
NEEDED: Helpers are needed to serve desserts and beverages to our guests at the SLMT Dessert & Entertainment night, and to help with clean-up. Please contact the church office or speak with Pastor Steve.

THE LOST SHEEP Prayer Group meets the second Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary, and the second Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Cindy Filson.
KIDS KLUB is in need of more workers! Needed are cooks for one or more weeks (need to plan, shop, and prep as well), table parents from 6 to 7:30, child care workers, and teachers (one-half hour commitment, curriculum provided). Can you help? Call or email the church office or speak with Sherise.
CHICKEN DINNER ORDER FORMS may be found on the narthex desk. You’re welcome to use it fully! The date for this year’s Three Fat Guys chicken repast is Saturday, the 14th of November. A representative will be in the narthex to take your orders. Yes, you may pre-pay to make your drive-up take-out experience all the more smooth.
THE BUILDING PROJECT did not have any paving take place until Thursday, but substantial progress was made the final two days of the week. The final coat of paving is on the main areas of the parking lot and canopy drive. Striping is next. What did not get finished on Friday should be done this week. Parents will be glad to know that guide rails were installed above the retention walls in the lower parking lot. Kids will have to make a concerted effort to jump off them now. Lots of trim work on the outside windows was complete, including the bay windows. In the sanctuary the barrel vaulting part of the ceiling has been dry-walled and spackled, so is now ready for painting. Off-site, the Walker Technical Company is working diligently on the console of our new organ. Similarly, work continues apace on the fabrication of the stained glass window and the refurbishing of the grand piano.
DOUBLING YOUR DOLLARS is happening throughout November and December. We thank the generous benefactors who are funding this year’s challenge goal of $200,000. During these last two months of the year every dollar given to the Building Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar until the challenge goal is met. Every dollar given now is a dollar knocked off any potential mortgage. Pray and see what the Lord would have you do to help meet this challenge.
A HEARTY THANK YOU to all who helped with last evening’s Celebration Banquet, particularly the Care Committee who planned the program. Of course, the greatest Thank You is directed to the Lord Jesus who has worked in so many ways inside the hearts and lives of people within the confines of those cement block walls of the Fellowship Hall. It is great to look back and see what God has done.
A HAITI MISSION TRIP is being considered for sometime early next year. A meeting regarding that possibility takes place Tuesday evening in Room 20 upstairs. It begins at 7 p.m. This would be a work trip in conjunction with Water for Life.
ORPHAN/ADOPTION SUNDAY is today. Around the globe 17 million children have lost both parents. Add in those who have lost one parent and the number swells to 150 million. Ken Merritt will bring a brief update on what that means for the world, for us, and for the children who are orphans.
PRAYER WARRIORS: Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) provides a Prayer Calendar which highlights prayer needs of the organization. They are available on the desk in the narthex. Please join us in praying daily for coaches & athletes. If you have any questions, please contact Darlene Schmidt or Wanda Brunner.
LEIDY’S CHURCH will again be represented in the Souderton Christmas parade on December 5th. If you wish to participate please contact the church office.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD shoe boxes are available on a table in the narthex. This Christmas project is sponsored by the Mission Committee. Pick up a box, fill it with gifts from the suggested gift list, and apply the sticker indicating if it is for a boy or a girl. Gift lists for appropriate ages are available on the table with the boxes. The boxes need to be returned by mid-November. More details will be found in the November Newsletter.
JUNIOR HIGH WINTER RETREAT happens on November 29th-22nd at Hemlock springs, in Rock, PA. Cost is $40, and yes, friends are welcome. Sign up on the sheet in the narthex. Any questions, call Pastor Andrew.

A clear plastic box with cover is available for your use. Be sure to sign the sheet on the table next to the name you have selected. They are due back November 29th.
THE 2015 DESSERT & ENTERTAIN NIGHT will be held on Saturday, December 5th, beginning at 6 p.m. Some tickets were purchased at the last SLMT Auction, but there are still seats available. Contact the church office or sign the sheet posted in the narthex. Tickets are $20 per person. Music follows around 7:00. No ticket is required to attend the concert, though a free-will offering will be taken.
