THE SERMON:   “One Flock, One Shepherd”
*  CONFESSION OF SIN: (first in silence then in unison)
C: Lord Jesus, Shepherd of all Your flock, hear our cry of repentance. Though You tell us not to fear, we have feared. Though You commission us as witnesses of Your truth, we have not always borne witness as we should. We confess the world and its rulers have intimidated us. The loud voices of confusion and chaos have disturbed our souls. We don’t know what to say. But Lord Jesus, our Shepherd, You are the Lamb of God. You bled and died for the sins of Your people. Give us grace to bear witness to that world-shattering reality: that You, the Lamb slain, are the King of the universe, the One to whom all will render an account, the One who invites all to come to You. Lord Jesus, we come to You. Give us a courageous and faithful voice to praise Your name in word and deed. Amen.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is One Flock, One Shepherd. The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church is an ancient saying of the Church, one that is encouraging to us in times of persecution. But who would persecute the Church or Christians? Those on the list would include people of other religious persuasions, official state governments, those who profess no faith in God, and even those who share the name of Christian with those persecuted. Paul used inspiring words to teach Timothy the purpose of the Church, while Isaiah’s words give encouragement to the Church, and Jesus says what He will do.

Please note that we do not accept items not in usable condition. Place items in the center of the Rummage Room (on the gym level) so that our sorters can keep up with the incoming goods, or call the church office if unsure of the procedure.
EVANGELISM COMMITTEE meets this Tuesday evening at 7:00 in the Conference Room.
LEIDY’S CHURCH is hosting a special Reformation Revival service on Sunday evening, October 29th. Sponsored by BMCE, it will begin at 6 pm and feature evangelist Frank Shelton. October 29th is Reformation Sunday, commemorating the 500th anniversary of Luther’s posting of the 95 Theses. At the heart of the Reformation was a call for genuine regenerational Christianity lived out under the authority of the Bible. That’s exactly the call which Frank Shelton will issue on the 29th. He will have a Reformation message to challenge believers and unbelievers, so invite your friends and neighbors.
SPECIAL REFORMATION SPEAKERS will be at the Reformed Baptist Church in Franconia tonight and next Sunday evening. This evening the speaker will be Dr. Michael Haykin, Professor of Church History at Southern Seminary in Louisville, while next Sunday evening will feature Dr. Carl Trueman from Westminster Seminary. The evening service begins at 6. No cost or registration required, just show up.
MISSIONS COMMITTEE meets this Wednesday evening at 7:00 in the Conference Room.
