      THE SERMON: “Lord of All”
*    CONFESSION OF SIN – first in silence and then in unison
C: O dear Lord, God and Father, enter not into judgment against us, because no man living is justified before You. Do not count it against us as a sin, that we are so unthankful for Your unspeakable goodness, spiritual and physical, or that we stray into sin many times every day, more often than we can know or recognize. Do not look upon how good – or how wicked – we have been, but only upon the infinite compassion which You have bestowed upon us in Christ, Your dear Son. Grant forgiveness also to those who have harmed or wronged us, as we forgive them from our hearts. They inflict the greatest injury upon themselves, by arousing Your anger in their actions toward us. We are not helped by their ruin; we would much rather that they be saved with us. Amen.
*   A HYMN: #616 Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus
** AN ANTHEM: Chancel Choir
*   THE CLOSING HYMN: #515 We Give Thee but Thine Own

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Lord of All. When Peter made the good confession that Jesus is the Messiah, Jesus told Peter, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” At that point neither Peter nor any of the other disciples had a clue what that meant. Among other things that Jesus had in view when He spoke those words to Peter, were the events that take place in the home of Cornelius. Peter shares the gospel with a room full of Gentiles. An unprecedented act. But God acts in the midst of Peter’s preaching and a second, sort of mini-Pentecost occurs. Peter realizes Jesus is Lord of all.

A CELEBRATION BANQUET for the entire congregation is being planned for Saturday evening, November 7th. Sponsored by the Consistory with major help from the Care Committee, it will be an evening to return thanks to God for all the ways He’s worked in and through the “new addition” we added in 1990. Looking forward to good food, good memories, good sharing, and good celebration of God’s goodness. Plan to be present. Please fill out the form on the narthex desk and place in the box provided.
INQUIRERS CLASS BEGINS next Sunday, November 1st. This is a class for those interested in becoming members of Leidy’s Church. It will meet each week during November in the Conference Room during the Sunday School hour. If you or someone you know would like to be part of this class please contact the church office or Pastor Niederhaus.
IF YOU’RE NOT CRAFTY but still would like to help with the Craft Show and Sale on Saturday, November 21st, Wendy Radcliff is looking for a partner to work with her in concessions or take over if necessary. Contact Wendy directly by email (radcliff6@verizon.net) or let one of the ladies in the church office know of your interest. Our annual craft show has served great food over the years, so this is an important part of the day to our guests and vendors.
ARE YOU THE CREATIVE TYPE? On Saturday, December 5th we are hosting the SLMT Dessert & Concert Night here at Leidy’s Church. We need creative ladies to use their artistic talents to design table settings and dessert arrangements that will appeal to the eyes and palates of those in attendance. If you enjoy dressing up your dining table for dinner and would like to excite the imaginations of our members with an assortment of delicious delectable, please contact the church office.
LOOKING FOR SOMEONE to transport two children from Kids Klub each Wednesday to Green Meadows in Telford. Contact Melinda Ziegler at 215-513-1255 if you can help.
THE BUILDING PROJECT poured sidewalks around the entrance this past week. The installation of the elevator is in process, though we’re not sure if it was completed this week or not. Ceiling grids are being installed throughout the building with lights being dropped in. The steeple is having all its trim finished, though the shingles are in place. The lights that will illumine it are to be installed and focused early next week. Scaffolding is being erected so the final side of the sanctuary exterior can receive its stone facing. Guys have been busy with caulking guns making the windows secure and dry. The temporary pipe across the lower drive was permitted to be removed, finally. That means macadam will go on the lower drive next week. Shrubs and trees continue to be planted, this week particularly in the area bordering the athletic fields. Prayers and petitions on behalf of the Building Project are greatly appreciated!
THE PASTORAL STAFF is feeling very appreciated! Thank you. Special thanks to the Care Committee for the goodies last week. Our waist lines profited! The many cards, gifts, words of encouragement, and hearty fellowship are received with gratitude. It is a privilege and joy to serve the Lord among the congregation of Leidy’s Church.
TIMELY REMINDER that next Sunday morning at 2 a.m. the clocks will fall back one hour. Enjoy the extra hour of sleep – especially if you’re up late at Judgement House!
CHICKEN DINNER ORDER FORM may be found in the bulletin. You’re welcome to use it fully! The date for this year’s Three Fat Guys chicken repast is Saturday, the 14th of November. A representative will be in the narthex to take your orders. Yes, you may pre-pay to make your drive-up take-out experience all the more smooth.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD shoe boxes are available on a table in the narthex. This Christmas project is sponsored by the Mission Committee. Pick up a box, fill it with gifts from the suggested gift list, and apply the sticker indicating if it is for a boy or a girl. Gift lists for appropriate ages are available on the table with the boxes. The boxes need to be returned by mid-November. More details will be found in the November Newsletter.
LADIES, IF YOU WERE THINKING of attending the Discern – Answers for Women Conference in Kentucky April 15-16, the super early bird discount rate is still available. Ticket price includes lunch Saturday and 2-day Creation Museum admission. Travel, lodging, and food costs to be determined.
