3. Why We Use Creeds & Confessions at Leidy’s Church: In our Sunday worship services at Immanuel Leidy’s Church, you will notice that we regularly use historic creeds and confessions, such as the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Heidelberg Catechism, with others to come. These ancient statements faithfully summarize what the church has long understood the Bible to teach, keeping us anchored in “the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). These creeds and confessions are not additions to Scripture, but faithful summaries of it—guides that help us worship with clarity, unity, and joy.
4. Do you love trying all sorts of chili? We need your taste buds to find the "Chili Cook Off Champ"!! Leidy's Church is hosting a Chili Cook Off Fundraiser with all proceeds going to Night to Shine. Prizes for Best Chili based on taste and appearance, and Best Name. All entries will be honorarily announced at the end to raucous applause! Raffle baskets will be drawn before winners are announced. All proceeds support Night to Shine. Help spread the word—we can’t wait to see you there! Can’t attend? You can still contribute cornbread or dessert—see Chef Tony.
5. Monthly Prayer Meeting happens this Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 and meets in Rm. 211.
6. Sunday Morning Core Seminars - Join us as we focus on Foundational Truths of the Christian faith through teaching and discussion. They will begin in February, the first seminar will be Conflict & Reconciliation.
7. Special Needs Caregiver Meeting – The next meeting is on January 23. Please read Chapter 1& 2 of Unbroken Faith. There will not be a meeting February 13th. Join us in Room 211 ~ Be encouraged!
8. Get to know Leidy’s Church! January 25 at 11:45am in Room 211. If you’re new to Leidy’s and want to explore what we’re about – this is the perfect way to do it. “Welcome to Leidy’s” is a relaxed gathering that allows you to meet with Pastor Darren and other leaders, learn more about Leidy’s Church, and have your questions answered. We’ll provide lunch and childcare after the church service. Sign up on line or call the church office!
9. Precepts Bible Study begins January 22, from 9-11:30AM in the Fellowship Hall. We will be starting 2 Timothy. Guarding the treasure that has been entrusted to us --- the truth of God’s Word. Contact Verna at gvbowman@comcast.net for more info.
10. Thanks to all who worked to make last evening’s Congregation Dinner & Business Meeting happen. From childcare to food prep to reports submitted to set-up, you name it, we thank you for it. Extra copies of the Annual Report can be found in the office.
